Education

I hold a Masters of Fine Arts in Writing for Children and Young Adults (MFA) from Vermont College of Fine Arts (VCFA), Montpelier, VT.

There I am on the far right about to graduate from VCFA. Our class name was the Bat Poets, after the inspiring book, The Bat Poet by Randall Jarrell.

Relevant Work

I worked for a decade helping low-income communities throughout the world (e.g., Cameroon, Haiti, Hungry, Bulgaria, the Philippines, Mexico, among many other places) on community development and micro-credit projects to improve their quality of life (e.g., home improvements like a latrine or start-up funding for a small business like a food stand.)

I served for three years in the Peace Corps in Cameroon (Central Africa) as a community development volunteer. Best experience ever!

I am a writer and I am also a preschool teacher.
